Foundation engineering works at the Concert Hall Lielais dzintars - Great Amber in Liepaja, Latvia
The Lielais dzintars - Great Amber multifunctional Concert Hall resembles a piece of the prehistoric, semi-precious sap that washes up on the beach at Liepaja.
We participated in the foundation engineering works at the Great Amber. We constructed the supporting wall of secant drilled piles (CCFA Ø620 mm and CCFA Ø815 mm), the central load-bearing piles and ground anchors. Construction of the supporting wall along an irregularly curved contour and control of variable underground water flow should be marked as major challenges of this construction project. Piling construction works were started in September 2013 and completed within 2 months, within the scheduled time frame.
