LEMMINKÄINEN CORPORATION PRESS RELEASE 17 DECEMBER 2012 AT 9.00 A.M
LEMMINKÄINEN WINS EARTHWORKS AND TECHNICAL BUILDING SERVICES CONTRACTS FOR ALAJÄRVI ABC SERVICE STATION
Lemminkäinen has secured a contract for the technical building services for an ABC service station, which is to be built in Alajärvi as a turnkey contract. The contract covers the installation of water, heating, ventilation, electric, automation, cooling and sprinkler systems, and the related planning. In addition, Lemminkäinen will carry out the earthworks for the project, comprising the construction of a yard area. Work at the site has already begun, with the building being ready for furnishing in September 2013. The total value of the contracts is roughly 2.9 million euros.
In addition to an ABC grocery store, the building will house an S-Market, an Alko store, and premises for three smaller commercial operators. Planning makes extensive use of modelling. Thanks to the modelling, observations of installation techniques and locations for various systems can already be made in the planning phase. Mass and quantity lists can also be obtained directly from modelling images. The new building will have a floor space of 5,630 square metres. The section of the yard that will be open to traffic is approximately three hectares in size.
Lemminkäinen has participated in the construction of several service stations for Eepee (Etelä-Pohjanmaan Osuuskauppa), a retail cooperative operating in South Ostrobothnia. Lemminkäinen is also responsible for scheduled maintenance for all technical building systems in Eepee's own properties, including repair work.
