Sharp sand is used for laying concrete paving stones and slabs. An even bed of sand to a thickness of two centimetres is laid over the base mineral aggregate. The sand bed is not compacted. The purpose of sharp sand is to level the block paving foundation and make it easier to lay the blocks in place.
Sharp sand can also be used in building a lawn base under topsoil. Water-permeable sharp sand improves the growing conditions of your lawn.
For laying natural stone paving and filling in the joints we recommend stone dust. Sharp sand is not suitable for laying slate or cobblestones because it can be flushed away by rain.
Sharp sand is easy to level.
