We are able to influence the content of education and learning materials related to the construction industry. We recruit new employees through internship programmes and provide summer jobs for students and people who aim to work in the construction industry.
There are a number of construction industry vocations for which education is not provided by educational institutions. Therefore, the necessary skills must be acquired through on-the-job learning, supervised by skilled professionals who are the best in the industry. We have a long tradition of providing education and training for our employees.
We encourage our employees to complete basic and specialist vocational degrees, among other things. Acquiring a degree helps employees move their career forward and improves their know-how regarding versatile construction projects.
Construction sites are equipped with more demanding technological solutions. Due to the strong growth in the renovation construction sector we provide specialised training to our employees so that they can take part in the most demanding projects; such training is not possible through the traditional training methods provided by educational institutions. For instance, we provide training for senior installers and project managers for plumbing system renovations.
We also provide our own apprenticeship-based training or corresponding vocational training in all our business segments. Quite often these are the only path to obtaining an education in the manufacture and installation of construction materials as well as for certain maintenance duties.
Developing expertise in new technologies
We are continuously developing our expertise in new technological solutions, such as product modelling. We carry out development work in cooperation with our clients and business partners. Our goal is to take this cooperation even further and enhance it.

Management staff training needs are the same regardless of the business segment. LEKA is a training package designed for management staff, focusing on various aspects of management such as leadership, project management and business skills. LEKA provides training for all levels of management staff from foremen to executives.
VIILA training sessions
Lemminkäinens VIILA package is a selection of short training sessions on current themes targeted at the Groups specialists and management staff. The sessions handle issues such as development discussions, Lemminkäinen's early support model and competition law.
Competency training package PAKKI
At Lemminkäinen, the competency training package PAKKI includes certain competency and permit-related training sessions on topics such as hot work permits, first aid, occupational safety, road safety and electrical safety at work.
